Funnel Max Media ("us", "we", or "our") operates the www.thesafetyledger.com website (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

We use your Personal Information for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information Collection and Use

The Safety Ledger is a free editorial site. We do not host login accounts, store user-submitted contact information, or maintain customer profiles. Most pages are read-only editorial content with no data collection beyond standard web traffic analytics described below.

Some pages on this site contain search forms that submit directly to a third-party affiliate partner (for example, a name-search form that submits to a people-search service). When you complete and submit one of these forms, the information you enter (such as a name and state) is sent directly to the third-party service and is not stored on our servers. Whatever you type into those search fields is governed by the third-party service's own privacy policy from the moment you submit it.

This site contains links and forms that direct you to third-party websites. Those services have their own privacy policies. You should read the privacy policy of any service before submitting personal information to it.

Affiliate Tracking and Referral Data

This site earns referral fees when visitors click through to partner services. To attribute those referrals correctly and ensure accurate commission tracking, we collect and store the following data in your browser session when you arrive at our site:

  • Google click ID (gclid) — set when you arrive via a Google Ads campaign
  • Google enhanced conversions parameter (gbraid) — set when you arrive via Google Ads with enhanced conversion tracking enabled
  • Microsoft/Bing click ID (msclkid) — set when you arrive via a Microsoft Advertising campaign
  • Native advertising click identifiers — set when you arrive via Taboola, Outbrain, or other native advertising platforms
  • Internal campaign parameters (s1, s2, s4, s5, subtheme) — set to track traffic source, campaign segment, and landing page context for internal reporting

This data is stored in your PHP session for the duration of your visit and is passed to our affiliate partners when you click through to their services or submit a search form. It is used solely for commission attribution and internal traffic analysis. It is not sold to third parties and is not combined with personally identifiable information about you.

Our affiliate partners — which currently include OmniWatch (identity, scam, and home title protection) and TruthFinder (people-search), and may include additional services added without notice — have their own privacy policies governing data they collect after you click through.

Log Data

We may collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service ("Log Data"). This Log Data may include your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

We may use third-party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor, and analyze this type of information in order to improve our Service's functionality. These third-party service providers have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and transferred to your device. We use cookies to collect information in order to improve our Service, support analytics and advertising measurement, and support affiliate referral attribution as described above.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. The Help feature on most browsers provides information on how to accept, disable, or manage cookies. If you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some features of our Service, and affiliate referral tracking may not function correctly.

Analytics and Tag Management

The Safety Ledger uses Google Tag Manager to deploy and manage analytics, advertising measurement, and conversion tracking tags on the site. Google Tag Manager itself does not collect personally identifiable information; it is a tool that triggers other tags (such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and partner conversion pixels) according to events on the page.

Tags currently deployed via our Tag Manager container may include:

  • Google Analytics 4 — for traffic analysis and measurement
  • Google Ads — for conversion tracking and remarketing on Google Search and Display
  • Microsoft Advertising / Bing UET — for conversion tracking on Microsoft campaigns
  • Native advertising platform pixels (such as Taboola or Outbrain) — for conversion tracking on paid native traffic
  • Affiliate partner pixels — where required by our affiliate partners to attribute conversions

Tags loaded by these services may set their own cookies, collect their own log data, and operate under their own privacy policies. Links to those policies appear in the relevant sections below.

Behavioral Remarketing

The Safety Ledger uses remarketing services to advertise on third-party websites after you have visited our Service. We and our third-party vendors use cookies to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on your past visits to our Service.

Google

We use Google Ads for paid advertising and Google Analytics for traffic analysis. This includes standard Google Ads remarketing, Google Analytics audience features, and Google's enhanced conversions tracking (via the gbraid parameter) which allows more accurate conversion measurement in compliance with Google's data policies.

You can opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Network ads by visiting the Google Ads Settings page. Google also recommends installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

For more information on Google's privacy practices, visit the Google Privacy & Terms page.

Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads)

We may use Microsoft Advertising for paid traffic campaigns. Microsoft's click ID parameter (msclkid) may be stored in your session when you arrive from a Microsoft Ads campaign. For more information on Microsoft's privacy practices, visit Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

Native Advertising Traffic

Some pages on this site (typically clearly labeled "Advertisement" advertorial pages) are reachable primarily through paid placements on native advertising networks such as Taboola or Outbrain. When you arrive at one of these pages from a native ad click, the network may set cookies on your browser, log your visit, and record conversion events for the purpose of measuring campaign performance.

Each native advertising network operates under its own privacy policy:

  • Taboola Privacy Policy
  • Outbrain Privacy Policy

You can usually opt out of behavioral targeting by these networks through their privacy pages or through industry opt-out tools provided by the Digital Advertising Alliance.

Do Not Track Disclosure

We support Do Not Track ("DNT"). Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your web browser to inform websites that you do not want to be tracked. You can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting the Preferences or Settings page of your web browser. Please note that affiliate referral session data described above is functional in nature and may still be collected regardless of DNT setting in order to correctly attribute referral commissions.

Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use your information for any other purpose.

Compliance With Laws

We will disclose your Personal Information where required to do so by law or subpoena, or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement, or to protect the security or integrity of our Service.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us. We strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable security procedures appropriate to the nature of the information we store, in order to protect it from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We are unable to guarantee the absolute security of any Personal Information we have collected from you.

Links to Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

Only persons age 18 or older have permission to access our Service. Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you learn that your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on this page. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect when the most recent changes were made.

Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications constitutes your acknowledgment of those modifications and your consent to abide by the modified Privacy Policy. If we make any material changes, we will place a prominent notice on our website.
